NHL Network Set For Seven Playoff Broadcasts Next Week

NHL Network is set to broadcast seven games from the qualifying round of the '20 Stanley Cup Playoffs, beginning Sunday with the first game of a best-of-five series between the Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets. Then there will be two games each subsequent day through Wednesday. Along with the network’s live coverage, "NHL Tonight" will air throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs as well. The show will feature the likes of hosts Lauren Gardner, Stephen Nelson and Jamison Coyle -- among others -- in addition to commentary from numerous analysts, including E.J. Hradek, former NHLers Kevin Weekes and Ken Daneyko and former agent and exec Brian Lawton. "The demand is so high right now, that we could probably do another three or four hours live, and it still wouldn’t be enough," Weekes said. "That’s a testament to how passionate the fans are." He noted that while the Bruins, Blues, Capitals and Penguins are some of the proverbial favorites when games finally resume tomorrow in Edmonton and Toronto, the Avalanche and Oilers could also have an outside shot at contending for the Stanley Cup. Weekes: "That’s what makes this so awesome and such must-watch TV. Charles Barkley says it all the time, ‘There’s no playoffs like the Stanley Cup Playoffs’ … The storylines are so tantalizing because the possibilities are endless. It’s so unscripted."
