Pepsi Becomes Eagles' New Soft Drink Provider In Seven-Year Deal

The Eagles have "entered into a new multi-year sponsorship deal" with Pepsi to become the team's "exclusive provider of carbonated soft drinks, as well as water, sports performance and energy drinks," according to John George of the PHILADELPHIA BUSINESS JOURNAL. The sponsorship also "covers freshly squeezed juice (excluding lemonade), vegetable juice and salty snacks." One of the "major components of the Pepsi deal is renaming Headhouse Plaza in front of Lincoln Financial Field as the Pepsi Plaza." Financial terms of the seven-year deal "are being kept confidential." Pepsi was an original founding partner with the Eagles when Lincoln Financial Field opened in '03 but "switched to Coca-Cola as its soft drink category sponsor" in '12. Eagles Senior VP/Revenue & Strategy Catherine Carlson noted that the team has had a "long-term relationship with PepsiCo subsidiary Frito-Lay and that partnership will now get rolled into the new sponsorship" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/27).
