NBA Launching New Campaign To Promote Season Restart

The NBA is launching a new campaign titled “It’s a Whole New Game” as part of its season restart that begins next week in Orlando. Both a 30-second and 60-second ad feature actress Issa Rae walking in an empty arena, talking about what she has been missing about the NBA since the March shutdown while also building anticipation for the restart of the season. The spot also features player highlights from the season prior to the hiatus. The new spot will launch today and will run on all NBA TV partners and on league-owned social and media platforms. “When we paused the season about four months ago, a lot has happened in that time,” said NBA CMO Kate Jhaveri. “We wanted to speak to where our fans are while at the same time remind them of the exciting feeling of what live basketball looks like.” There is no agency of record on the campaign, but Jhaveri said the league worked with the Cartwright agency on the spot. In addition to the new spot that debuts today, the NBA will add three more spots as part of the “Whole New Game” campaign.
