Eagles Owner JEFFREY LURIE's documentary film company, Play/Action Pictures, on Thursday "announced the completion of its inaugural project, which has been in the works for three years: 'THE MEANING OF HITLER.'" Lurie is an "executive producer for the film," which "uses the 1978 best-selling book of the same title as a guide, [and] was filmed in nine countries over three years" (ESPN.com, 7/9)....Attorneys for late Saints and Pelicans Owner TOM BENSON are "fighting a move by several national media outlets to unseal confidential pleadings and other records filed when Benson’s estranged relatives unsuccessfully sought to have him declared mentally unfit in 2015." Benson attorney JAMES GULOTTA JR. "filed a motion Tuesday opposing the release of the documents sought by the Associated Press, CNN, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post." Meanwhile, lawyers for the daughter and grandchildren with whom Benson "fell out at the end of his life said in a motion that they had 'no opposition' to the unsealing of the case files" (NOLA.com, 7/9).

IN MEMORY: LEO ROSE, an original owner of the Spurs, died on Wednesday at home at 99. In '73, Rose was "among the local investors who pursued the Dallas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association, and became an original owner of the Spurs." He later co-signed a $5M note that "enabled the franchise to make the jump to the NBA." He also aided BILLIE JEAN KING in '85, when she was "seeking investors" for World TeamTennis league (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 7/10).
