Cavaliers Owner DAN GILBERT "spent the past 35 years building Quicken Loans into a mortgage lending giant and an extension of his personal brand," and that "won't stop when the company goes public." Rocket Companies Inc., which owns Quicken Loans, "filed paperwork this week to potentially list its shares on the New York Stock Exchange." In it, the company revealed that Gilbert's holding company will "continue to control 79% of the voting power of Rocket Companies’ common stock following its IPO." Gilbert suffered a "severe stroke last year." He now is "back to work but spending hours each day in therapy" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 7/9).

NAMES: Spurs G PATTY MILLS will play in the NBA restart so that he can give just over $1M of his salary to "causes in his native Australia devoted to fighting racism." He will "split that money between three causes -- Black Lives Matter Australia, another group that deals with the problem of Blacks dying when in custody, and the newly formed We Got You campaign that he helped organize to address the issues of racism within Australian sport" (AP, 7/8)....Cowboys RB EZEKIEL ELLIOTT yesterday "helped deliver a check for $85,000" to the North Texas Food Bank. Elliott announced in April that he was "teaming up with CentreTX to release exclusive merchandise in an effort to help families in need during the coronavirus pandemic" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 7/9).
