NFL Panthers Buy Up More Property Around South Carolina HQ Site

The NFL Panthers are "steadily growing their real estate footprint near the organization's new headquarters development in Rock Hill," according to Collin Huguley of the CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL. GT Real Estate Holdings LLC, the Panthers-affiliated entity that owns the headquarters site, on Monday closed on the purchase of two "additional parcels in York County." One parcel is a 5-acre site that "borders the property for the headquarters development, which totals well over 200 acres." That property was bought for $1M. The second parcel is "about 10 acres," and the team paid $70,000 for it. It is next to Waterford Golf Club, which the Panthers purchased for $2.3M in March. These land acquisitions could "prove to be significant because of some conditions in the local incentives agreement that York County Council approved for the Panthers headquarters development" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/8).
