FIFA To Host Virtual Meeting For '26 World Cup U.S. Host Sites

A virtual workshop meeting with U.S. host cities for the ’26 FIFA World Cup is scheduled for July 7, FIFA confirmed to THE DAILY. Sources have described next month’s rescheduled meeting, which follows FIFA’s postponement of a workshop in Dallas on March 16-18, as a way to re-ignite discussions amid the global pandemic and proceed toward outlining next steps in the host site bidding process. The meeting, which was organized by FIFA and the U.S. Soccer Federation, will be followed by individual sessions, a FIFA spokesperson said. The ’26 World Cup will be held in Canada, U.S. and Mexico. There are currently 17 U.S. cities and locations competing for 10 spots: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Houston, K.C., L.A., Miami, Nashville, N.Y (East Rutherford, N.J.), Orlando, Philadelphia, S.F., Seattle and DC.
