Univ. Of Colorado Chancellor Believes CFB Will Be Played This Fall

Univ. of Colorado Chancellor Phil DiStefano said he believes the school is "going to have football in the fall," but with the caveat that it will be "with very few individuals or empty stadiums," according to Sean Keeler of the DENVER POST. DiStefano's statement is the "most definitive yet" from a Pac-12 official, on-record, that the league "intends to play football this calendar year despite campus and civic shutdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic." CU athletics department officials said that they have "hired an outside firm to look into reduced-seating scenarios and to propose new health and safety guidelines at Folsom Field, which has a capacity of 50,163." Meanwhile, DiStefano earlier last week announced that on-campus classes at Boulder "would return in the fall, with new safety measures and social-distancing measures in place" (DENVER POST, 5/29).
