NFL Panthers' New HQ In South Carolina Expected To Cost Over $2B

There is "expected to be over" $2B in total investment at the new NFL Panthers HQ in South Carolina, according to Collin Huguley of the CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL. The investment in the first phase was "split into two sections: Day 1 and Phase 1 (0-7 years)." The Day 1 investments "include the team's training facility and an Atrium Health sports medicine center." It estimated the training facility "would be 600,000 square feet," at a cost of $580M. The Atrium Health facilities were "estimated at just over 100,000 square feet" at a cost of $59.2M combined. The remainder of the projected investment for Phase 1 totaled $557.4M, which includes a $62.7M, 200-room hotel; two apartment buildings with commercial space, at a combined cost of $103M; and a total of 580,170 square feet of office/research space. Phase 2 of the development is "pegged to take place between eight and 13 years out." Most of the second phase is "designated for 1.3 million square feet of office/research space." Phase 3 is the final stage of the development shown on the investment model and is "projected to take place more than 13 years from now." The final phase is all office/research space (BIZJOURNALS.com, 5/28).
