Suns May Play At Different Arena If NBA Regular Season Resumes

Suns officials sent a letter to team partners to "give them a heads up that Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum could be where the Suns play their final six home games if they're able to play out their regular season," according to Duane Rankin of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC. As such, the team plans to "address seating and ticketing once the NBA announces their plans on resuming the season." AVMC seats 14,870, while the Suns' regular facility, Talking Stick Resort Arena, seats 18,422. The arena move would allow the $230M renovation project of TSRA to "continue without interruption from a Suns game." Meanwhile, those renovations have "continued despite the COVID-19 pandemic." Suns Owner Robert Sarver was "looking to have at least 60% of the arena renovations completed" by the start of the '20-21 season and the practice facility "completed by August 1." Team officials earlier this month confirmed that both projects were "on schedule to hit those target dates" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 4/1).
