NBA Kings Launching Program To Connect With Fans During Hiatus

The NBA Kings are "launching a program entitled 'In This Together,' a wide-ranging effort to engage and connect with the community during the coronavirus crisis through online activations, health awareness, physical and educational activities, business support and more," according to Jason Anderson of the SACRAMENTO BEE. The initiative is "part of a league-wide campaign to help the global NBA community." The NBA has "encouraged teams to develop programs in four categories: Know the Facts, Acts of Caring, Expand Your Community and NBA Together Live." The Kings will work with the G League Stockton Kings, as well as Kings Guard Gaming and Golden 1 Center, to "utilize their digital platforms, community partners and the voices of players, coaches, broadcasters, game-night hosts and others to educate, entertain, support and encourage acts of kindness in the community." The Kings have "used various platforms to disseminate news and information from California public health officials and the American Red Cross to help slow the spread of the coronavirus." Owner & Chair Vivek Ranadive, G Bogdan Bogdanovic and F Marvin Bagley III have "offered tips for staying healthy and active." Meanwhile, the Kings and Legends Hospitality "donated nearly 5,000 pounds of food to the Sacramento Food Bank and the Sacramento County Office of Education" (SACRAMENTO BEE, 3/31).
