Inter Miami CF Changes Crest To Encourage Social Distancing

Inter Miami CF has altered its logo to "separate the iconic great white herons, whose legs are normally interlocked, to encourage social distancing on the team’s digital platforms," according to Michelle Kaufman of the MIAMI HERALD. In addition to "altering its logo in the name of social distancing, Inter Miami is adding content from players and coaches to its newly-released membership app to give fans an inside look to how the team continues to prepare and spend their time during the hiatus" (MIAMI HERALD, 3/24). ESPN.com's Tom Marshall also noted Inter Miami "isn't the only club to change its crest during the current crisis." Uruguayan side Club Atletico Penarol also "made an adjustment, reducing the usual 11 stars at the top of the badge to just one," while Peru's Club Deportivo Municipal changed its badge to "include two hands embraced at the bottom, promoting the idea that people should be washing their hands regularly" (ESPN.com, 3/23).
