Rick Bernstein To Leave HBO Sports After 40 Years

HBO Sports' RICK BERNSTEIN will "close out his career at the premium cable network and set his sights on projects that interest him" after nearly 40 years at the network and 20 years as executive producer, according to Bob Raissman of the N.Y. DAILY NEWS. In a business "full of blowhards and egomaniacs," Bernstein was "calm and genuine, even in the wild world of boxing." He paired with former HBO Sports President ROSS GREENBURG to "form a legendary creative team that made all HBO Sports productions look and sound like major events." Bernstein "leaves HBO Sports with a vast legacy," one he "richly deserves" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 3/21).
