Mavericks Employees Work From Home Amid Coronavirus Concerns

Marshall has regularly been in contact with team employees on WFH plans

Mavericks employees on the franchise's business side "have been told to remain home and work remotely for at least two weeks," according to Brad Townsend of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Mavs CEO Cynthia Marshall last Wednesday "conducted a company-wide conference call" in which she "encouraged employees to reach out to her if any personal difficulties arise." She also "gave updated information" regarding coronavirus. Marshall said that the Mavs' offices "would be sanitized during employees' absence." Townsend noted the team's sales department also has "put together ticket credit and refund scenarios," depending on how many games are lost from this season, in order to "ensure that fans are not out any money for games not played." The team is working with American Airlines Center and jersey patch sponsor Chime to "ensure that arena hourly employees are compensated for the six home games that fall within the 30-day league hiatus." The Mavs also "will pay the 12 stat-crew members and five timekeepers who were scheduled to work those games." Meanwhile, most of the organization's focus, by the business and basketball sides, is on "community outreach and support" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 3/21).
