Austin FC Getting Lucrative Shirt Sponsorship Deal With Yeti

Yeti also will roll out Austin FC-branded outdoors merchandise, including its popular tumblers and coolersaustin fc

MLS expansion franchise Austin FC is unveiling an undeniably cool shirt sponsorship today with its announcement that Austin-based ice chest and tumbler maker Yeti will place its brand name across the chest of players when the club begins play next year. Austin FC execs would not discuss financial terms, but sources said its value would rank among the top few deals in the league, putting it at upwards of $4M annually. Along with placing its logo on jerseys, Yeti will launch a line of Austin FC-branded outdoors merchandise, including its popular tumblers and coolers. Yeti also will serve as presenting sponsor of Austin FC sustainability programs, an interesting match between a brand known for its green business practices and a club that chose green as its primary team color. "This partnership allows us to continue pursuing our ambition of operating a top MLS club with strong commercial trends across merchandising, ticketing and sponsorship,” Austin FC President Andy Loughnane told THE DAILY. "We may be the 30th largest market in the U.S., but our club’s ambition to be a top-five club in the league in core off-field categories is all done in an effort to be a top club on the field." Loughnane added, "When we align with a brand with the luster and appeal of Yeti, it takes us one step closer to that ultimate objective. With Yeti as a leading Austin brand, I think we send a meaningful message to our supporters and community leaders that we are a brand that wants to represent Austin in the most professional way."
