Syracuse Says Construction On Carrier Dome Roof On Schedule

Construction on the Carrier Dome at Syracuse is "continuing with the primary focus on building the large crown-truss on the outside of the building that will hold the new roof," and the project overall "remains on schedule," according to Chris Carlson of the Syracuse POST-STANDARD. Syracuse VP & Chief Facilities Officer Pete Sala said that the crown-truss is "scheduled to be completed by March or, potentially, early April." Carlson notes the last game in the building before the roof is taken down is "scheduled for March 1." Sala said that he "expects the current roof will be taken down during the first two or three weeks in March, after some final preparations take place." The first football game that will be played under the new roof is "scheduled for Sept. 18." Meanwhile, Syracuse is "currently engaged in discussions with vendors" to sell off pieces of the roof when it comes down. Sala said that the school is "still looking at vendors to help run that part of the project and the details aren't finalized" (Syracuse POST-STANDARD, 2/5).
