Falcons' Blank Hoping On-Field Product Improves Fan Experience

Falcons Owner Arthur Blank is aware of the franchise's issues with fans defaulting on their PSLs, but said that he is "optimistic that the football team can improve to help the situation," according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION. Falcons fans have "defaulted on payments for thousands" of PSLs since Mercedes-Benz Stadium opened in '17, "essentially undoing" about $30M in sales. Blank said, "Some of the defaults are kind of predictable. A lot of it is driven by life changes and circumstances." He added, "Overall, our success has been really good with PSLs. We have defaults. We had them last year. We'll have them again this year, and we need to continue to find ways to make sure that they are sold through and we have the kind of fan experience in the stadium, that's important." Blank said part of improving the fan experience and attendance at games is the Falcons producing a "different set of results on the field" following consecutive 7-9 seasons. Blank: "That's definitely been a factor." Ledbetter notes Blank is "fine with the fan experience at the stadium, but not with the football team's performance" (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 1/30).
