Buyers & Sellers: Astros Owner Buys Michelle Pfeiffer's $9.1M L.A. Home

Astros Owner JIM CRANE has purchased actress MICHELLE PFEIFFER's home in L.A. for $9.1M. The home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood was built in 1949 in an "architecturally ambiguous style," and has about 3,200 square feet of interior space and "sports an attached converted garage that now functions as a guest studio." There is a "skylit kitchen with high-end stainless appliances, a great room with hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows, and a master suite with a wee private balcony and ocean views." The back yard "features a grassy lawn, an irregularly-shaped pool and wide patio with a sunken firepit" (San Jose MERCURY NEWS, 1/9).

TWO IS BETTER THAN ONE: Hawks F CHANDLER PARSONS has purchased a home in the Hollywood Hills for $6.775M. The sale came "roughly a week" after Parsons also bought a home in Malibu for $9.25M. The "contemporary-style" home in Hollywood Hills features "floor-to-ceiling glass, clean lines and a cantilevered wing that creates cover for a patio below." Within more than 5,500 square feet of "muted interior are a center-island kitchen, open-plan living areas, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms." A lower-level bar is "outfitted with a gym, a wine room and a 12-seat Dolby Atmos home theater" (L.A. TIMES, 1/4).

BUYERS & SELLERS: Sources said that Canadiens LW ILYA KOVALCHUK has purchased a home in Beverly Hills for $11.2M. Built in '18, the single-story house has "clean lines, slabs of ribboned marble and pocketing doors that take in city and ocean views." Some 6,200 square feet of interior "holds a subdued chef's kitchen with an island, a formal dining room, an office, five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms." Outside, "grounds of more than half an acre center on a swimming pool with a raised spa and baja deck" (L.A. TIMES, 1/7)....Former NFLer JON DORENBOS has sold his Huntington Beach townhouse for $1.15M. The two-story home "sits a few blocks from the beach in the guard-gated community of Seacliff on the Greens." The 2,300-square-foot home has two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms and features a tile and hardwood split-level floor plan, which "steps down to a sunny living room and up to an open-concept space with a kitchen, dining area, family room and breakfast nook" (L.A. TIMES, 1/9).
