Nate Burleson Stars In DraftKings' NFL Playoffs Ad Campaign
CBS and NFL Network personality Nate Burleson will star in DraftKings' new NFL postseason ad campaign, which will "show a giant sportsbook with the betting lines for the NFL's Conference Playoffs," according to Ryan Barwick of ADWEEK. DraftKings will "advertise locally where sports betting is legal, while focusing its national campaign on the daily fantasy sports product with ads running on Fox, the NFL Network and across DraftKings' digital channels." The ads will start running Jan. 18 and will "run right up until the pregame" of Super Bowl LIV on Feb. 2. The ads are "segmented into five 30-second clips as well as one 60-second clip and one 15-second clip." The "Made in America" campaign features Burleson "touting DraftKings' latest promotions and calling on players to 'be brave in the land of the free.'" DraftKings CMO Tom Goedde declined to discuss figures, but said that DraftKings' ad spend this year was "nowhere near the same as in previous years," such as when the company spent a reported $131.4M on television ads in '15. This will be Burleson's second campaign for DraftKings, after "voicing the brand's opening season campaign this fall" (ADWEEK.com, 12/20).
