Oklahoma City Univ. Offering Esports Management Degree

Oklahoma City Univ. is now offering a new esports "management degree," and students can "apply for the program" for fall '20, according to Nuria Martinez-Keel of the OKLAHOMAN. Under the Petree College of Arts and Sciences, the bachelor of arts degree program will "incorporate sport science, broadcasting, advertising, event management, budgeting and content development." Two months ago, the university founded its eSports Club with the "intention to offer scholarships for recruited players in the spring semester." At least 26 high schools in Oklahoma have established competitive esports teams to "compete statewide" (OKLAHOMAN, 11/18).
