SI.com's Jamie Lisanti profiled NBA Chief Innovation Officer AMY BROOKS, whose job is to lead the push for the "status as the fast-changing league of the future." Brooks' job has "two parts: advising teams on ways to innovate and then driving change at the league level." Brooks leads an "internal consulting group of about 40 people that helps the 93 teams" of the NBA, WNBA, G League and NBA 2K League "pump up revenue and popularity and develop new ideas." She also leads a 10-person, "league-focused global strategy and innovation group," and "chief among those efforts is the NBA 2K League" (SI.com, 11/14).

LEADING THE SEARCH: In Chicago, Teddy Greenstein profiled search firm DHR Int'l Managing Partner GLENN SUGIYAMA, who has "helped place" a number of football coaches such as LANE KIFFIN at FAU, BLAKE ANDERSON at Arkansas State, SETH LITTRELL at North Texas and JASON CANDLE at Toledo. Most recently, FSU "hired Sugiyama to conduct its search" for a new coach. There are seven "main headhunters and executive search firms that do nearly all of the work for FBS jobs," and the "modern headhunter is part researcher, part sounding board and part concierge, making all the arrangements on the down low for conference calls and interviews" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 11/15).

NAMES: Redskins S LANDON COLLINS has joined esports organization Rogue parent company ReKTGlobal as an investor. Collins is another "high-profile addition" to ReKTGlobal's ownership group, which has a "number of celebrity investors," including Jazz C RUDY GOBERT, members of the band IMAGINE DRAGONS and DJs STEVE AOKI and NICKY ROMERO (ESPORTSOBSERVER.com, 11/14)....Now that Redskins LT TRENT WILLIAMS' season is over, he "will be ringside" on Friday in Sloan, Iowa to "watch light heavyweight JOSEPH GEORGE make his network debut on Showtime's 'ShoBox' against MARCOS ESCUDERO." George is "one of four boxers" that Williams "professionally manages" (WASHINGTON TIMES, 11/15).
