Audience Analysis: Minnesota's Win Boosts ABC's Noon Window

Minnesota's upset of No. 4 Penn State on Saturday helped ABC to its best audience for a noon kickoff in nearly three years. The Gophers' upset drew 6.73 million viewers on ABC, the most since the '16 Ohio State-Michigan game drew more than 17.0 million viewers in the noon slot. With four weeks left in the regular season, ABC is drawing 3.13 million viewers in the noon window, up 12% from last year at this point. Meanwhile, the Minneapolis-St. Paul market drew a 19.5 rating for the game, setting a record locally for a college football game on an ESPN network.

COMING TO YOUR CITY: Saturday's anticipated LSU-Alabama matchup helped ESPN to a win on "College GameDay," as the pregame show drew 2.2 million viewers, its best audience of the season to date. It also marked the show's best non-Thanksgiving weekend telecast since '15. To date, "GameDay" viewership is up 3% over last season.
