Facility Notes

In Las Vegas, Bailey Schulz reports MGM Resorts Int'l has "landed the naming rights for a performing arts center at Fenway Park." The center is "set to open" in '21 and will be "dubbed the MGM Music Hall at Fenway." The mixed-use venue will "sit beyond Fenway Park's right-field bleachers, and is set to host 'a wide variety of live events,' with the ability to accommodate about 5,000 patrons" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 11/8).

EVERYWHERE YOU WANT TO BE: In S.F., Ron Leuty reported Visa will move its global HQ to the city's Mission Rock development, committing to a building in the project before the MLB Giants and partner Tishman Speyer have "even broken ground." The move is a "big win for the Giants and developer Tishman Speyer as they get ready to build out the office-residential-retail development." Visa is a "longtime partner of the Giants" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 11/6).

GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS: In S.F., Phil Matier noted a group of "concerned local business leaders has come together to call on Oakland City Council to drop its lawsuit aimed at blocking the A's purchase of Alameda County's half share of the Coliseum site." The group calling itself "Town Business" was "put together with the help of the A's and represents about 25 businesses." Town Business members said that while they "plan to support a number of art and community projects down the line, the immediate goal is to influence the City Council debate over whether to drop its suit" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 11/6).
