Sports Business Execs Share Their TCS N.Y. Marathon Experiences

Sports business execs are always well represented among finishers of the TCS N.Y. Marathon, and this year was no exception. We would like to congratulate readers of THE DAILY who achieved this incredible feat. Below are some of their finish times, along with the personal experiences of those who participated:

TD Garden Member Experience Exec ALYSSA FOLEY (4:55:35) -- I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 13 and had a lumbar spinal fusion at 15. I participated in track and field in high school, although doctors told me the possibility of running in the future would not be likely after surgery. Ten years later (October '18) I completed the Chicago marathon in 5:02:00. This year, I teamed up with Team for Kids, an organization surrounding fitness and overall wellness programming for inner city children. I raised about $3,500 for the kids (goal was $2,620) -- wanted to fully support kids and their dreams of running, as I chase my own goals. Running has always been an outlet for me. I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, a colleague and a runner. That's just who I am! Running the marathon has allowed me to set goals and crush them, even outside of training season.

Turnkey Intelligence Dir of Research ERIN DAVISON (4:20:49) -- This was my first TCS N.Y. Marathon. It is telling of the incredible experience NYRR creates that I was sick from mile 14 on and still had the absolute time of my life. The energy and support throughout the entire race kept me going and I'll never forget it!

MLB Dir of Media & Market Research MARC BECK (3:58:27) -- Very happy with a sub-4-hour race, although just missed my best time for N.Y. What makes this race so good is the unreal crowd support the entire way on the streets -- the people outside the ropes can really carry you all the way to the finish. ... It's unlike any city I've run in. Easily the best day on the calendar in N.Y., and the best event that goes on in my city every year!

Islanders Senior VP/Ticketing, Premium & Business Intelligence MICHAEL COSENTINO (2:59:11) -- Drawing on inspiration from one of our owners and multi-NYC marathon finisher, Islanders co-Owner JON LEDECKY, I completed my first NYC Marathon. I have run in nine marathons around North America, but this one blew them all away. Crowds lined the streets from start to finish and strangers cheering on strangers with everything they had. I felt gratitude and inspiration from the experience.

NHL Dir of Partnership Marketing PATRICK RYAN (3:15:23) -- The '19 TCS N.Y. Marathon was my fifth marathon (4th NYC), but the first one I was able to enjoy with my son in the crowd. The energy and electricity through Brooklyn and the raucous crowds in the Bronx pulled me through to Mile 24 in Central Park, where I got to give my son and wife a big hug with the whole crowd cheering for me. What a great race!

CSM Sport & Entertainment Senior Dir of Integrated Marketing RYAN SAWRIE (3:53:00) -- I ran my first TCS N.Y. Marathon and 7th marathon overall. I was the least prepared and most injured I've ever been for a race, but had the most fun!

CSM Sport & Entertainment Senior Manager of Brand Partnerships NICK MADDEN (4:13:33) -- It was an incredible day -- picture perfect weather and such unique energy in each of the five boroughs. Couldn't have made it to the finish line without the support of colleagues, friends and family along the way!

Wasserman Senior Dir of Brands CHERYL MARK (3:57:17) -- I trained for this year's TCS N.Y. Marathon with Nike's Project Moonshot. Each workout was a celebration of NYC's running community and the TCS N.Y. Marathon was the culmination of our entire city coming together for a 26.2 mile adventure. My coaches, teammates and everyone who came out to cheer made me love this city even more! Thank you NYRR, Nike, and everyone who supported this crazy dream!

Wasserman Team Sports Legal Counsel ANDREW BUA (4:10:45) -- The TCS N.Y. Marathon is a 26.2-mile long party, with spectators wildly cheering the runners on every step of the way. It's an incredible, inspiring atmosphere that I can't wait to experience again next year. Crossing the finish line is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Nobody does it like New York City!

U.S. Soccer Dir of Events AMY HOPFINGER (4:11:52) -- The TCS N.Y. Marathon lived up to all of the hype. The perfect weather and an amazing crowd made for a day I will not forget.

U.S. Soccer Member Programs Manager CAITLIN CARDUCCI (3:21:43) -- It was a great course with so many people taking part in the race. I actually liked the bridges because it makes the miles go by quicker!

DC United General Counsel CHRIS DEUBERT (3:32:08) -- Completed his 7th TCS N.Y. Marathon.
