Bill Simmons' Latest Podcast Serves As Continuation Of Hoops Book

The Ringer's Bill Simmons launched a new podcast called "Book of Basketball 2.0," a new weekly series that will use his '09 N.Y. Times best-selling book as "source text for an exploration of the sport and its best-known players today," according to Natalie Jarvey of the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Simmons, who dropped the first teaser for the podcast yesterday, said he wants it to be something basketball fans "could listen to five years from now and seven years from now." The podcast has "been in the works for about six months, and Simmons has already taped several episodes." Some will "feature interviews like the one that Simmons recently conducted" with Warriors coach Steve Kerr. The latest project "joins a slate of more than 30 podcasts produced by The Ringer." The show will debut Nov. 6 with five episodes. Subsequent new episodes "will be released weekly" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 10/30).
