NBA Marketing Notes: Kawhi Impresses In "Terminator" Spot

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Clippers F Kawhi Leonard are co-starring in a commercial for the upcoming "Terminator: Dark Fate" film, and Schwarzenegger said Leonard is "very funny and very natural on camera." In the spot, Schwarzenegger bumps into Leonard at the gym, where the two also see Clippers F Paul George. The 60-second ad has been "viewed nearly 3 million times on Schwarzenegger's Twitter page." Schwarzenegger: "The finished product turned out great. ... Both of those guys were very funny and natural." He also said, "With Kawhi and Paul, the Clippers have two of the best personalities, and they're fun to watch" (L.A. TIMES, 10/31).

I'LL FLY AWAY: The Lakers and Delta Air Lines have extended their partnership, allowing the Atlanta-based company to remain the "exclusive airline partner" of the team. The agreement includes the launch of Showtime Seat Exchange, a "charitable trading service which will allow season ticket holders to receive an airline ticket in exchange" for gifting tickets to one of four select Lakers home games. For their donation, ticket holders will receive domestic, roundtrip Delta vouchers "to be used within one year from the date of issue" (CNBC.com, 10/30).

FASHION FOCUS: Retail clothing company Express announced its '19-20 NBA Game Changers campaign, headlined by Pacers G Victor Oladipo, Hawks G Trae Young and F John Collins, Nuggets G Jamal Murray and Bulls rookie G Coby White. The campaign involves a series of digital and video assets and will premiere across Express' digital, social media, and in-store platforms as well as the NBA's digital and social media platforms beginning this month (Express).

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth.
