New Mexico Bowl Title Sponsor Nixed After Just Three Weeks

INTERSECTION STRATEGIES

ESPN Events "pulled the plug Thursday on its 3-week-old partnership" with Albuquerque-based DreamHouse as title sponsor for the New Mexico Bowl, according to a front-page piece by Geoff Grammer of the ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL. The logo for the DreamHouse-sponsored game and "all references to it were scrubbed from the bowl's website and the old, sponsorless bowl logo was put in its place." No reason was given for the move, but the move came on the same day it was revealed DreamHouse "has no business license with the city of Albuquerque." Additionally, the company's address "is listed as a residence" despite the company claiming to have a "25,000-square-foot post-production studio" in the city. A four-year deal with DreamHouse was announced on Oct. 1 and was "touted as one that would bring national exposure to the city, the state's booming film industry, the game itself and the company." However, it appears that DreamHouse "is not yet up and running at all" (ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL, 10/25). The New Mexico Bowl's Twitter account also does not have any references to DreamHouse (THE DAILY).
