Intel Out As NCAA Sponsor, While Nissan Drives Away From Infiniti

Intel will not renew its NCAA corporate partnership after signing a multiyear deal with the organization in '17. The tech giant initially saw the NCAA deal as a way to provide a marketing platform for its virtual reality product, Intel True VR, which carried the March Madness Live app and some NCAA Tournament games on the VR device. The app featured a virtual courtside seat experience for users. With the departure of Intel, the NCAA's corporate partner program now has three champions (its highest level) in AT&T, Capital One and Coca-Cola and 13 other brands at the partner level for a total of 16. Meanwhile, Nissan will swap out its luxury Infiniti brand to focus on another model within the Nissan family as the NCAA's official import car. CBS and Turner Sports jointly manage and sell the partnership program as part of their media rights agreement with the NCAA.
