Golden Knights Introduce Virtual Reality Drill Hub At Practice Facility

The Golden Knights have launched VGK VR, a "virtual reality simulation at City National Arena that puts fans into the action," according to Justin Emerson of the LAS VEGAS SUN. The technology "comes via Sense Arena, a Czech Republic-based virtual reality company, and the Golden Knights are the first NHL team to have the simulator at their practice rink." The simulator, which launched Thursday, is now open to the public and "features 81 drills" included among the practice sessions. VGK VR is located "near the second rink away from where the Golden Knights practice." It is "open every day, even if the Golden Knights aren't practicing" (LAS VEGAS SUN, 10/25). In Las Vegas, Ben Gotz notes the team hopes to have C Jonathan Marchessault and LW Max Pacioretty "do some of the drills so visitors can see how their score stacks up." Golden Knights CMO Brian Killingsworth said that the tech "could also 'potentially' be used in their Vegas Jr. Golden Knights program." He added that he "hopes it encourages people who like the sport but haven't played to give it a shot" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 10/25).
