Spurs' Big Three Set To Reunite In This Season's H-E-B TV Ads

Recently retired NBAer Tony Parker is scheduled to return to San Antonio-based supermarket chain H-E-B's "iconic Spurs-themed TV commercials to air this season" and will "join a 'legends' cast that already includes" former teammates Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, according to Jeff McDonald of the SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS. The "slate of active players set to appear in the H-E-B spots has changed by one," with Spurs G Bryn Forbes replacing Pau Gasol, who is now with the Trail Blazers. Spurs F Rudy Gay, G DeMar DeRozan, F LaMarcus Aldridge and G Patty Mills are the "returning members of the active cast." Forbes is "joining in the proud legacy of Spurs H-E-B commercial stars." The "offbeat series began" in the '00s, with the ads "growing into an essential part of Spurs fans' viewing experience." When Duncan retired from playing in '16, a "spinoff series of sorts was created with the big man joining a 'retirees' cast" that included former players David Robinson, George Gervin, Sean Elliott and Bruce Bowen. Ginobili "joined that troupe upon his retirement last season" (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 10/17).
