The Stanley Cup champion Blues visited the White House yesterday, and after a "few political comments," PRESIDENT TRUMP mostly "stuck to hockey." He "kept it light, and the Blues played right along." Trump noted that Blues Chair TOM STILLMAN once worked at the Department of Commerce and said, "If you ever get tired of doing this, maybe we can get you back over there (in government)." Stillman replied, "I'm sticking with hockey." Stillman presented the president with a Blues No. 45 Trump jersey. The Marine Corps. band played "Gloria" as the team entered the Rose Garden (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 10/16).

MISTAKEN IDENTITY? The Browns were sued yesterday by a man who "alleges the team negligently misidentified him as the fan who drenched a player on an opposing team with beer." ERIC SMITH says in his suit that he "did not attend the Browns' season-opening loss" to the Titans, and that he has "not attended a game in more than nine years." The lawsuit "lists the Browns, FirstEnergy Stadium, NFL Security," Browns VP/Ticket Sales & Service BOB SIVIK and Senior VP/Communications PETER JOHN-BAPTISTE as defendants (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 10/16).

HONORS & AWARDS: The Colorado Sports HOF named LINDSEY VONN and former Rockies GM BOB GEBHARD to its '20 Class (Colorado Springs GAZETTE, 10/16)....The Sports Museum's 18th annual gala, The Tradition, will honor the following on Nov. 20 at TD Garden: Bruins D ZDENO CHARA, former MLBer MANNY RAMIREZ, former U.S. Olympic figure skater MICHELLE KWAN, former coach and NBAer PAUL SILAS, former NFLer MATT LIGHT and Golf HOFer BEN CRENSHAW (BOSTON GLOBE, 10/16)....The Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation's 16th annual Aspire Gala will honor Red Sox Special Assistant & VP/Baseball Operations TONY LA RUSSA, Golf HOFer ANNIKA SORENSTAM and U.S. Paralympic athlete ROB JONES on Feb. 21 in Baltimore (Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation).

NAMES: Stars Owner TOM GAGLARDI's Northland Properties development company is turning "landmark Fort Worth skyscraper," the W.T. Waggoner Building, into a hotel. Gaglardi has been "expanding his Sandman Hotel Group, Moxie's Grill & Bar and Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill chains in North Texas" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 10/16)....Bucks President PETER FEIGIN and co-Owner JAMIE DINAN are speaking Wednesday at the Harvard Business School after two HBS professors recently published a case study on the team's rise (THE DAILY)....Former MLBer TROY TULOWITZKI has a "new job as volunteer assistant" for the Univ. of Texas baseball team (AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 10/16)....Panthers QB CAM NEWTON and longtime girlfriend KIA PROCTOR "welcomed a newborn this week," their fourth child together.
