Austin FC Sets Season-Ticket Pricing For Inaugural MLS Season

MLS expansion club Austin FC season tickets for general and supporters sections "will cost $48 or less per match," according to Chris Bils of the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN. Team President Andy Loughnane previously had told fans that 75% of the seats in those sections "would be under the $48 threshold," but he confirmed yesterday that number has "reached 100%." Loughnane said that the general and supporters sections "account for 'higher than 70%' of the 20,500 capacity stadium." He "declined to reveal any further details on pricing." Loughnane "emphasized that the least expensive tickets for each regular-season home match will be $20, per the stadium agreement with the city, and he previously indicated that some season tickets would be nearer to that price point." Demand for tickets is "high, with deposits for 38,000 seats and counting." Loughnane said that suites have "already sold out, save for a handful that were being held back for 'sponsorship partners that have yet to be formalized.'" The team "will soon draw winners for its 'Los 27' lottery, choosing 27 fans who will become the first to select their seats." Premium deposit holders will be "invited to make their selections starting around November" (AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 10/16).
