Fox Sports Adding NFL, Betting Programs To Facebook Watch

Fox Sports has signed a deal with Facebook Watch to "provide shows focused" on the NFL, gambling and highlights from Liga MX, Big East basketball, NASCAR, Premier Boxing Champions and the Professional Bowlers Association, according to John Ourand in this week's SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL. The Fox programming, which already is on the service, will stream “Fox Football Sunday” every Monday where Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, Tony Gonzalez and Curt Menefee "answer questions from Facebook users." Colin Cowherd and Jason McIntyre will "tell Facebook users what they think of their proposed bets during 'The People vs Colin Cowherd' three times per week." Facebook is "talking with other sports media companies about similar deals" and it would "not be surprising to soon see similar announcements" with, networks like NBC, CBS or Turner Sports. Fox Sports "logged more than 200 million views on Facebook in September." That marked a "record high for Fox Sports, which has eclipsed the 200 million-view mark for three consecutive months" (SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL, 10/14 issue). SPORT TECHIE's Andrew Cohen noted some of the new shows will "include fan voting and the ability to submit live questions." Fox also is "adding new Facebook Watch segments covering" Liga MX, which will "stream exclusively via the Fox Liga MX Facebook page" (SPORTTECHIE.com, 10/15).
