Celtics F JAYLEN BROWN has hired JASON GLUSHON of Glushon Sports Management to "take the lead on contract-extension negotiations" with the team. Brown "did not sign with an agent" after entering the '16 NBA Draft and has instead "mostly worked with 'specialists' on things such as marketing and endorsements." His pay was "locked in on the rookie salary scale for his first four years, but now that he is eligible for an extension, there is more room for actual negotiations" (BOSTON GLOBE, 10/11).
FAME GAME: Toronto Sun sports journalist STEVE SIMMONS was "recognized Thursday when the Football Reporters Of Canada elected him to the media wing" of the Canadian Football HOF (TORONTO SUN, 10/11)....A total of 22 people were honored as part of the inaugural class of the Memphis Sports HOF during a ceremony Thursday, including Memphis men's basketball coach PENNY HARDAWAY.
