Kansas State To Sell Alcohol At Basketball Venue This Season
Kansas State will "begin offering sales of beer and wine in all public areas of Bramlage Coliseum during men's and women's basketball games" in the '19-20 seasons, according to Ryan Black of the MANHATTAN MERCURY. Bramlage will become the "third K-State athletics venue in which fans can purchase alcohol." K-State has "sold beer during baseball games at Tointon Family Stadium" since '13 and at "soccer matches at Buser Family Park since the program's inception" in '16. Under the new policy, only two drinks "may be purchased at one time." Sales will "begin when doors open and close at the 15:00 mark of the second half for men's games and with 5:00 remaining in the third quarter for women's games" (MANHATTAN MERCURY, 10/10). In Wichita, Kellis Robinett notes multiple concession stands and portable locations will "serve beer and wine throughout the Bramlage concourse, in addition to the premium seating areas of the arena." K-State does "not currently offer beer and wine options throughout the general seating areas of its football stadium." School AD Gene Taylor has said that he will "ask K-State fans for feedback before deciding whether or not to change that" before the '20 season begins. But he said yesterday that there are "no imminent plans to expand beer and wine sales to Bill Snyder Family Stadium" (WICHITA EAGLE, 10/10).
