Chinese Apparel Brand Anta Halting Contract Negotiations With NBA
Chinese sportswear brand Anta said that it will "halt contract renewal negotiations" with the NBA, adding to the list of Chinese firms "cutting ties with the league," according to REUTERS. Anta in a statement said that the company "opposes any action that harms China's interests and was dissatisfied with the comments" by the Rockets and NBA execs. Anta "did not provide details on the nature of the contract that was being negotiated." Anta has endorsement deals with several NBA players, including Warriors G Klay Thompson and Celtics F Gordon Hayward (REUTERS, 10/8).
