Ed Kiernan To Oversee Business Elements Of Canton's HOF Village

Engine Shop co-Founder ED KIERNAN has accepted a role as Chief Commercial Officer of HOF Village, the owner of the mixed-use development surrounding the Pro Football HOF in Canton. Kiernan, an Ohio native who was part of the '14 SBJ "Forty Under 40" class, will oversee brand partnerships, marketing, sales, event development and planning and other commercial revenue generating projects. The HOF Village last month announced it would be going public via a merger with Gordon Pointe Acquisition Corp. The company on Thursday said that deal is expected to close before the end of the year. HOF Village is originally a joint venture of Industrial Realty Group and the HOF. The transaction is designed to fund the next phase of the nearly $900M project, entitled the Johnson Controls HOF Village, which has been slowed by financing difficulties. The second phase includes two hotels, a field house/convention center, an office building, retail space and an indoor water park. It is pegged at $268M, according to the Canton Repository.
