The Blue Jackets and locally-based BrewDog USA agreed to a multiyear extension and expansion of their partnership that began before the '17-18 season. A new element of the partnership is BrewDog's new hockey-themed beer that will be named by fans in a contest that launched yesterday. Fans can cast a vote for one of four choices: Jackets Required, Cannon Blast, Trash Talk or Puck Bite (Blue Jackets). In Columbus, Dan Eaton noted the beer is "described as a 'crushable pale ale' with 5% alcohol-by-volume and citrus, pine and mango notes." It will be "available alongside other BrewDog brews both at Nationwide Arena, BrewDog's Ohio bars and retail locations in the region" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 10/2).

DEVIL'S WATER: Devils fans this season at more than 90 bars and restaurants can order Devils Woo! Brew, a "beer collaboration" between Magic Hat Brewing and the team. The beer was unveiled yesterday at Prudential Center ahead of the team's home opener tomorrow. The Devils Woo! Brew will be "available exclusively" during the regular season at Prudential Center, 39 New Jersey Applebee's locations, and more than 50 other bars and restaurants. It also will "be on tap at Magic Hat Brewing" in Burlington, Vt. (NJBIZ.com, 10/2).

STORM WARNING: The Hurricanes on Monday officially "unveiled Storm Brew, a new light lager brewed by Raleigh's R&D Brewing." The beer will be "sold at PNC Arena during home games and appear on grocery shelves in 12 ounce cans and 16 ounce tallboys." The name was "picked by fans through online voting earlier this year, with Storm Brew collecting 75% of the support." The beer's official launch party will be Saturday at Carolina Ale House in Raleigh (Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER, 10/1).

THROWING IT BACK: The Coyotes have partnered with locally-based Grand Canyon Brewing to create Kachina Throwback Ale. The beer will be available in stores, restaurants and Gila River Arena this fall. The can design draws heavily from the look of the Coyotes' classic Kachina jerseys (Coyotes).
