Weekend Plans With Wasserman Media Group's Travis Clarke

Clarke loves spending his free time in the outdoors with his wife and kidsTRAVIS CLARKE

With the Tokyo Games less than a year away, Wasserman Media Group Senior VP/Business Development of Action Sports + Olympics TRAVIS CLARKE is busier than ever. But when he's not prepping for Tokyo, you might find him surfing in San Diego or camping in the California desert with his family. Clarke recently caught up with THE DAILY for a rundown on how he spends his weekends.

SURF'S UP, DUDE: My preferred way to start the weekend would be to take the kids and head down to the beach on Friday night. My son AIDEN is very much getting into surfing, so ideally mom (wife AMANDA) is sitting on the beach with Aiden and my daughter MAKENNA for a bit while I surf and then I'll come back in and take them in and get them in the waves for a bit as the sun sets. I surfed in high school and college but wasn't good enough to make a career out of it, so I figured I'd start managing them.

UP AND AT 'EM: Saturday we're up early, and I usually get a bike ride in. I'm a pretty avid cyclist, so we'll do a good ride and then it depends on the weather. If it's nice we'll do some hiking or go to the beach. We like to stay outside as much as we can and like to travel quite a bit. We'll load up in the RV and go to the California desert for a night or two or go back to the beach. We just did a little pee wee soccer for Aiden for a few weekends -- that was a good exercise in patience, but it was fun.

NIGHT MOVES: Saturday night is mom and dad time, so it's usually dinner with friends somewhere, checking out new restaurants. We go to a lot of concerts. We just had KABOOM here in San Diego, so that was a lot of fun. One of our favorite spots to eat is Pacific Coast Grill -- it's right on the sand in Cardiff. My buddy's dad owns it. Really good menu and phenomenal view. We also love the Pony Room at Rancho Valencia. Amanda is a pretty special cook, so oftentimes she's cooking. But I like to do some steaks on the grill. A lot of local fish.

SUNDAY FUNDAY: We like to live by no waste days, so we're never too lazy. Usually Sundays include chores around the house and kind of yard work, maintenance, stuff like that. The kids will take a ride on their scooters or bikes along the beach and then we'll be home for the jacuzzi. I'm an ex-Chargers fan. I may or may not still look at the games to see how they're doing. I'm also a big Lakers fan, so when they're playing, I'm into that. I'm really excited about this season. I also grew up racing off-road cars down in Baha so can watch anything motorsports.

WINDING DOWN: Typically on Sunday nights I'll sit down with my laptop and go through any of the junk emails or anything in my inbox just to get my mind right. We're also big into "YELLOWSTONE" and "BALLERS," so we may watch some of those. We're big "GAME OF THRONES" fans, so that's leaving a big hole in our lives. I always need to see the ocean on the weekend. It centers me, reminds me of home. I grew up there, so I always try and get down there and just get out and be around it, whether it be a hike, bike or standup paddle. It just relaxes me.
