Oregon State Offering Single-Game Tickets To Season-Seat Holders
Oregon State athletics this week sent an email to season-ticket holders and offered a "like number of individual tickets to Oregon State's final four home games, at no additional cost," according to Nick Daschel of the Portland OREGONIAN. The athletic department is "providing tickets in open seats as close in proximity to the season ticket holder's current seats." In most cases, the free seats are "located in the same section." OSU sold about 14,000 season tickets this season, "about a thousand fewer" than '18. Reser Stadium holds 45,674, and there were "thousands of empty seats for the first two games." It is a "chance to give something to supporters that doesn't hamstring OSU athletics financially." It is also an "answer to season ticket holders asking 'what about us'" as OSU makes "discounted single-game and multi-game ticket offers to non-season ticket buyers in order to fill seats." There is "no time limit on requesting the free tickets, at least until the final home game ends" (Portland OREGONIAN, 9/19).
