Sources: Nets Hiring Former Turner President David Levy As CEO
The Nets are hiring former Turner President DAVID LEVY as CEO, making him the "chosen CEO" of new Nets Owner JOE TSAI, who recently purchased majority ownership from MIKHAIL PROKHOROV for $2.3B, according to sources cited by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com. Levy "worked closely with the NBA in his capacity overseeing Turner Sports' television sports coverage and holds a strong relationship" with NBA Commissioner ADAM SILVER. Sources said that Levy's appointment will "become official shortly after" the league's BOG "formally approves Tsai's ownership later this week" in N.Y. (ESPN.com, 9/16). Levy left Turner in April after AT&T officially assumed control of the company and talked to THE DAILY's John Ourand in June about the possibilities for his next stop in the sports industry.
