Tebow is listed as an expected witness in one PED lawsuit against his personal trainerESPN IMAGES

TIM TEBOW has been a "big believer" in the methods of personal trainer IAN DANNEY, who has "come under scrutiny after two different athletes filed separate lawsuits against Danney that accuse him of giving or injecting them with banned performance-enhancing drugs." Plaintiffs in both cases "want Tebow to testify." One, former U.S. bobsledder GEA JOHNSON, lists Tebow as an "expected witness at trial next year in Arizona," along with former NFLer JAMES HARRISON and former BALCO chemist PATRICK ARNOLD. There is also a "separate lawsuit in California" involving Raiders DT COREY LIUGET. Tebow is "not known to have violated any drug policy." Danney said that he "did not provide Tebow with 'any illegal substance'" (USA TODAY, 9/13).

POLITICS ON ICE: Former U.S. figure skater MICHELLE KWAN "posed for pictures Thursday on a busy walkway in the middle" of the UNLV campus during a JOE BIDEN presidential campaign stop. Kwan has "taken on a paid role overseeing the celebrities and other famous faces who will appear on Biden's behalf." Her visit "kicked off what's likely to be a parade of celebrity appearances in swing state Nevada" through the November '20 election on behalf of candidates (AP, 9/12)....Former NHLer MIKE RICHTER was "among the athletes who visited Capitol Hill this week and spoke at a hearing before the Senate Democrats' Special Committee on the Climate Crisis." The hearing was called: "The Fight to Save Winter: Pro Athletes for Climate Action" (WASHINGTON POST, 9/13).

MEDICAL MENTIONS: Golden Knights D SHEA THEODORE revealed in an "emotional essay" for The Players' Tribune that he was "diagnosed with testicular cancer more than three months ago." Golden Knights GM KELLY MCCRIMMON said that Theodore is "fully recovered and cleared to participate in the first day of practice Friday" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 9/12). Golfer JUSTIN THOMAS revealed Thursday he had a "recent scare with melanoma that was discovered when he had a mole on his left leg checked out." Thomas in an Instagram post indicated that it was "caught in the early stages" (GOLFWEEK.com, 9/12).

THE BOOK OF DAVID: NBA Commissioner Emeritus DAVID STERN's time running the league was discussed on ESPN's "The Jump," with the net's Paul Pierce saying, "He's improved a lot of player's lives, he’s improved a lot of the players’ images and he really cleaned up the NBA.” ESPN’s Amin Elhassan added, “We owe him a debt of gratitude.” But after Stern said in a recent interview he did not have any regrets about his tenure, Elhassan said there "one thing that he should have a regret with," as the presence of former Clippers Owner DONALD STERLING "happened on his watch.” Elhassan: “He didn’t get him out of here when he could have.” ESPN’s Rachel Nichols noted, “You can have a regret, by the way, and still look at the whole totality and say, ‘This was really good and his tenure was really good’” (“The Jump,” ESPN, 9/11).
