NBA Franchise Notes: Cavs To Honor 50th Season With "Era Nights"

The Cavaliers will "celebrate their 50th season with a variety of themed nights and fun giveaways," and in Cleveland, Joey Morona notes this season's promotional schedule is "divided into five eras, with each paying tribute to a specific period of Cavs basketball." Each time period will be "celebrated with its own 'era night,' with activities and in-game content related to that time." In addition, each era will have its "own bobblehead giveaway" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 9/13).

GET 'EM WHILE THEY'RE HOT: In New Orleans, Nathan Brown noted Pelicans season ticket holders were "given early access to buy single-game tickets" for Lakers C Anthony Davis' return game, so they "bought the remaining allotment" before they could go on sale to the public. There are "still a small number of tickets set aside" for season ticket packages, "meaning precious few seats still remain for those interested" in attending (NOLA.com, 9/12).

GONE CAMPIN': The Heat will "return to Palm Beach County" the first week of October, as the team plans to "move up to West Palm Beach" for training camp sessions at Kaiser Univ. The team held camp at FAU the past two seasons. Logistics "kept the Heat from an anticipated return to the Bahamas for camp for a third time." The decision "not to return to the Bahamas came in advance of Hurricane Dorian" (South Florida SUN SENTINEL, 9/12).
