Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell "kicked off a Douglas Park cleanup," as the NFL "hosted a 'Huddle for 100' day-of-service in Chicago to mark the start of the NFL's centennial season" today. Lightfoot said that yesterday's cleanup was her "first time meeting Goodell." The mayor's office said that members of the community "came out to refurbish a playground and participate in a cleanup scavenger hunt" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 9/5).

NFL NAMES: Pro Football HOFer Brian Urlacher and former NFLer Jordy Nelson "coached military service members through NFL combine-style drills Tuesday as part of USAA’s Salute to Service NFL Boot Camp" at the Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 9/5)....Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, who grew up in Chico, Calif., "purchased and gifted 375 football helmets -- the VICIS ZERO1 models -- to Chico High, Paradise High and Pleasant Valley, his alma mater." Rodgers "made the donation through his Aaron Rodgers Foundation" (SACRAMENTO BEE, 9/5)....The New England Patriots Foundation will be "raffling off an authentic Super Bowl LIII championship ring." The foundation "supports charitable and philanthropic agencies throughout New England" (PROVIDENCE JOURNAL, 9/5).
