Former Under Armour marketing exec LEON DUNCAN has "filed a racial discrimination and defamation lawsuit against the Baltimore-based athletic apparel company." Duncan said in the lawsuit that UA and his former manager "treated him differently because he was black." Duncan worked at UA for 10 years (BALTIMORE SUN, 8/24).

LEGAL MATTER: Lawyers for men suing Ohio State over sexual misconduct by a team doctor said that the "growing number of accusers has topped 300." The group’s size is in the "same ballpark as the initial wave of plaintiffs" who got $425M from Michigan State to "settle claims related to LARRY NASSAR." OSU Dir of Media Relations BEN JOHNSON said that the "investigation and the related litigation have cost the university" about $7.8M so far (AP, 8/23).

THE GOOD STUFF: JAMES HARDEN was at Tuffly Park in Houston on Saturday to "announce an initiative to spruce up at least two city parks, Tuffly in Kashmere Gardens and Highland Park in Acres Homes." The project was previously known as "SHOWTIME" but is "now untitled" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 8/23)....The OHL announced that its annual goaltending honor "will henceforth be known" as the JIM RUTHERFORD Goaltender of the Year Award (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 8/24)....Stack Sports, a portfolio company of Genstar Capital, has "acquired Affinity Sports and Blue Sombrero" from Dick’s Sporting Goods (FORTUNE.com, 8/23).
