Daytona Int'l Speedway has struck a new sponsorship deal with Real Time Pain Relief that includes retail activation. Terms were not disclosed for the deal beyond it being multiyear, but the company will use Daytona 500 and DIS marks on limited-edition bottles of its pain relief cream sold at stores (Adam Stern, THE DAILY).
WHY NOT? In Oklahoma City, Maddie Lee notes Rockets G Russell Westbrook is releasing a "new collection in his Honor the Gift clothing line," which will be "thanking Oklahoma." The "Zero Regrets" shirts went on sale ahead of Westbrook's first season in Houston. The collection is "available for purchase online at honorthegift.co" (OKLAHOMAN, 8/20).
REDUCE, REUSE: WOMEN'S WEAR DAILY's Jean Palmieri notes Polo Ralph Lauren has "reimagined the ball person uniforms it creates" for tennis' U.S. Open to be "made from recycled materials." This is "another indicator of the company's push toward sustainability." Polo also will be "collecting plastic tennis ball cans in partnerships with Wilson at this year's tournament and they will be made into the fabric" for the '20 ball person uniforms (WWD.com, 8/20).
