The book was edited by NBC Sports Bay Area reporter MATT MAIOCCO, who along with SEAN MADDISON "co-directed and co-produced the 'LETTERS TO 87' documentary" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 8/7)....Celtics rookies GRANT WILLIAMS and CARSEN EDWARDS last night prior to Royals-Red Sox "took the mound at Fenway Park to deliver the ceremonial first pitches." The pair were "greeted with hearty cheers and applause from fans" (BOSTON GLOBE, 8/7)....Giants S JABRILL PEPPERS yesterday "presented two checks, in partnership with Giants sponsor United Rentals, to the East Orange Hurricanes and East Orange Jaguars youth football programs following a training camp practice." The donation of $10,000 -- "split evenly between both programs -- will go towards uniforms and other necessities" (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 8/7).
