USL Club Louisville City Secures Naming Rights For Stadium

USL club Louisville City's under-construction stadium "will be called Lynn Family Stadium" under a new naming-rights deal with school boosters, according to Chris Larson of the LOUISVILLE BUSINESS FIRST. Terms of the deal "were not disclosed." Louisville-based ophthalmologist Dr. Mark Lynn said that he has been "communicating" with the club for this deal since '17. He added that the naming-rights deal was "not a business deal but was a way to give back to the community." Crews from stadium project contractors Messer Construction and Harmon Construction have "started putting up lighting" and the Bermuda-grass field "will be transplanted after growing for about two years." Messer Project Manager Jason Larkin said that the stadium is about 70% "complete and that the construction crews were targeting a mid-March completion date, in time for the first game next season" in April. Lynn Family Stadium will "anchor a commercial district with hotels, restaurants, retail and other commercial uses that could cost" about $200M. AEG Facilities will manage the venue (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/5).
