Crew Tap Legends To Help Run Stadium Project, Sell Naming Rights

crew

The Crew have tapped Legends to "sell sponsorships and naming rights" for the team's new stadium project, according to Jacob Myers of the COLUMBUS DISPATCH. Legends will "work on project planning and development, technology innovations, and data insights and analytics on both sides." The Crew also have an agreement with IBM iX, though it has not been said "how the partnerships will ultimately show themselves in the stadium." Legends "specializes more in increasing the value of a venue and organization while the Crew partnered with IBM iX to aid in developing the fan experience for the stadium." The Crew expect to open the new 20,000-seat stadium, complete with an "outdoor public plaza," in the Arena District in '21. The project will also redevelop the team's current home, Mapfre Stadium, into a "training facility and sports park." The Crew have "yet to acquire the land for the stadium." Legends has been involved in a number of "recent stadium projects," including Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Banc of California Stadium and the Inglewood NFL stadium. Legends has also partnered with EPL clubs Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester City, as well as LaLiga clubs FC Barcelona and Real Madrid (COLUMBUS DISPATCH, 7/30).
