The Government Employees Health Association (GEHA) has partnered with the Chiefs and QB Patrick Mahomes, who becomes a new GEHA Official Brand Partner. GEHA under the new partnership will become the Exclusive Health Plan, Dental Plan and Vision Plan Partner of the Chiefs. The new Drum Deck at Arrowhead Stadium will be sponsored by GEHA. In addition, GEHA will be the presenting sponsor of the Chiefs' new digital content series, "The Franchise," which gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the team in preparation for the '19 season (GEHA). GEHA President & CEO Darren Taylor said the partnership is a "bold move" for the association. Taylor: "We really want GEHA to become a household name." In K.C., Kevin Hardy noted the partnership will "create a new Chiefs digital wellness program, military appreciation initiatives and an updated Chiefs Sports Lab, an educational program for children at Arrowhead Stadium." As part of the deal, Mahomes will "appear in TV, print and online ads for GEHA, as well as represent the company at local events." Mahomes now has "major deals with companies like Hunt's, Hy-Vee, Adidas and Goodcents Deli Fresh Sub." Taylor said Mahomes is a "very popular young man right now." Hardy noted GEHA has "taken a measured approach" to Mahomes' public appearances for the company. Taylor said they "don't want to flood the market" with Mahomes everywhere, adding they are "not going to run 50 commercials in every market every day of the week" (K.C. STAR, 7/20).
